Everything you need to know
to unlock the cartwheel
Find out all tips and tricks to learn it the most efficient way

Prerequisites​
-
Coordination: Knowing how to do the 2 -step. The 2 step is a circling motion on all 4 limbs.

Downward dog: The DD stretches the backside of your legs and mimics a bit the starting and ending position of the cartwheel. Getting comfortable here is helpful.

Squat: As a regression you gonna do squat spins. Being able to squat is a foundation.
What you should be able to do

Warm up
These body parts need to get ready

Wrists make sure to stretch and strengthen them.

Legs warm up the hamstrings by stretching and engaging them. DD and pancake positions are a good warm up.
-
Upper body sidebends help warming up your torso to get ready to cartwheel with ease.

Mistakes
Things to avoid
There are 4 main mistakes people do while trying to cartwheel:

bending the legs, keep them straight

not staying in center line with shoulders and hips

not staying on line on the floor

not going one limb at a time (durations of limb moves)

If you correct these 4 common mistakes, I guarantee you take a major step towards performing a clean cartwheel.

To master a new moves especially as a beginner you need to break things down into small single projects.
Also you can focus on regressions and using equipment to make it easier to learn.
A regression of the cartwheel is the squat spin.
